Post your country pictures!

No thread for this yet so I thought I'd get one started.

Here's one to get us started - this is a pic taken around 100m behind my house. I climbed the mountain on a REALLY rainy day partly for fun / thrill, and partly to check the stability of the soil, checking for landslide danger etc.

BTW our nickname for our house is トトロハウス "Totoro House" - pretty easy to see why, I think :)

Nice idea for a thread Paradoxbox and the picture is really atmospheric. You can almost see the Kodama on the branches

Absolutely John,

Just resize to 75Kb or under and then either drag and drop them into the post and click the 'Place inline' button or click the attachments tab down below and then click the 'Place inline' button.

Hope that helps

If you have a facebook account, you can upload to the pic to facebook first then copy / paste the URL of the photo here, that way less photo compression/larger size :)

Looking forward to the pictures from around your neck of the woods guys :)

Or you can use a picture hosting site like Tiny Pic

Those renkon are beautiful! I have got to learn how to grow them, renkon is one of my favorite foods. Unfortunately I don't think I can do it on my land but there are some creeks nearby that I could probably coax into a makeshift renkon zone...!

Thanks man,

That whole valley is full of them and looks really spectacular when they all flower, never grown them myself either but as they say nothing ventured nothing gained so why not try growing them. Mostly you just need deep mud for them to spread though.

Do they need to be under mud/water the whole growing season or just for the sowing?
