Here comes #13

Still early days yet so hoping it will veer off eastwards and not bother us at all.

Typhoon number 19 is heading in

Bit hard to predict where it will go at this stage but fairly safe to assume western Japan is going to get a bit breezy next week.

And hot on the heels of typhoon #19 comes #20

Could be two typhoons in one day which would be somewhat intense I imagine.

I have to say #20 was by far the scariest typhoon I have ever encountered.
The eye passed slightly to the West of us and we got the brunt of the right hand part of the blast directly on coming up the straights between Shikoku and Wakayama.
For about 2 hours at the peak, the house was shuddering like a shindo 2 or 3 earthquake with random very loud bangs and ominous creaks.
Half of the area's poly tunnels ended up .. somewhere else.. I say this because debri was not visible around the neighbourhood and neither were the previous day's polytunnels.
The road was strewn with that corrugated semi see-through stuff used for veranda shade roofs and side of the house storage buildings.

It was a very slow moving typhoon and even now its pretty windy and horrible.

Our eco-cute seems to have died. going to give it a day or 2 to dry out and if its a no go just get a lease one from Kansai Electric. It is so old, I doubt that our insurance would cover it.

Otherwise all is well. Hoping everybody else in the path fared as well or even better.

Good to hear you guys are ok, #20 looked to be a monstrously huge typhoon on JMA's rain radar and satellite imagery. Can't say I'm any kind of expert on typhoons but don't think I've seen one as large as that before, the edge just about reached us here over in Chiba. Must have been pretty scary right in the middle of it, Mrs Nouka and I were discussing whether we'd evacuate if one like that passed over here.

Did the typhoon rip the vinyl off the houses or take even the pipework ?

Fingers crossed that your eco cute will come back to life once it's dried out

Some of the tunnels are missing the vinyl but a few seem to have upped frames and all and gone to the great big nowhere.
A few times some very substantial somethings hit the house, vibrating the whole house. No idea what they were. But one of the neighbours' mini green house seems to not be there anymore.
All the houses around here look like they have been pressure washed.

Still no go on the eco cute.. cold showers are not too bad since its so hot.

That typhoon passed right over our house but didn't seem to cause much trouble here. It seemed to hit the Kii peninsula with a hard right hook Ouch!

Hope your neighbors are ok.

The eco cute has made a comeback. Just need to wait for the water to heat up before having a non chilly shower.
Tora, I am so glad you are ok.
