Thanks Eric, I guess they have to make money someway so it's not that different to currency exchanges.

Whilst browsing through Bitflyer's site I read that they use cold wallets to store their clients coins, do you reckon this should make your funds safer and less likely to be lost or hacked ?

Well glad I didn't invest in any cryptocurrencies a few days ago. Lets see how this plays out over the next few weeks/months and then might be a good time to buy.

Just go into it without any expectation of stability.

It will probably increase in the long run. Put in some cash when it's taken a tumble, then leave it there. May help if you just don't look at the prices at all for several months or a year.
