I've had enough of the rain, please don't come. For the love of god let my cucumbers live out the rest of their days in the sun!
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

Your wish is my command, it's fizzled and been downgraded to a severe tropical storm.

Looks like it won't make it this far

It's been a long tsuyu this year, all our veggies forgot what the sun looked like so at first site they all promptly fell over and wilted. Hoping they will get used to it over the next few days. How are your cucumbers coping with downy mildew ?

They haven't coped well, luckily we have 2 areas growing so the later lot didn't get as punished as the first lot.
The first lot are missing loads of leaves now. I have areas where it's just a stem and lots of leaves up top, I think next year we need to add a lot more fertilizer and compost.

Also just as we seemed to hit our peek with cucumbers he adopt a 2 month old dog, the owners were thinking of dumping him in the mountains somewhere.... what the fuck is wrong with people??

We recently bought a small pack of cucumbers seeds that are supposed to be resistant to downy mildew so are growing them now to see what happens and if they work well will scale them up for next year.

This seems to happen all the time. One of our cats, Cat-chan was a roadside rescue from a spot that was used to dump unwanted puppies and kittens. It was so notorious that one guy took early retirement and bought the plot of land and tried to look after and feed as many of the dogs as he could.

Good to know there are people like him helping these animals.
Surely paying a bit of money to neuter a dog/cat is far far better than just dumping the unwanted animals later on??!!
